System Unit

What is SYSTEM UNIT?
The system unit is the box-like case that contains the electronic components of a computer. Many people erroneously refer to this as the CPU. Here you will find devices like the power supply, different drives, the fan, the connectors, and the motherboard. Note that in most cases, the monitor, keyboard, and mouse will not be found inside the system unit layout.

COMPONENTS OF SYSTEM UNIT
  • SYSTEM CASE
  • POWER SUPPLY
  • MOTHERBOARD
  • HEAT SINK
  • GRAPHIC CARD
  • PORT
  • NETWORK CARD
  • HARD DRIVE
  • ROM
  • RAM
  • CPU

1.SYSTEM CASE
The primary function of the computer system unit is to holdall the other components together and protect the sensitive electronic parts from the outside elements.

 2.MOTHERBOARD
One of the most essential part of the computer. It holds many of the crucial components of computer including central processing unit (cpu),memory and connectors for input and output device.

3.POWER SUPPLY
A power supply is a component that supplies power to at least one electric load.

4.RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY(RAM)
The system memory often called as RAM (random access memory). This is the primary memory, which holds all the programs and data the processor is using at a given time. All memory accessible at any instant (randomly) by a microprocessor. The latest type of RAM is DDR5 as of this writing.

5.VIDEO CARD
Controls the information you see on the monitor. This is also called the video card or graphics adapter. On low-cost desktop systems and virtually all portable systems, a video might be built into the motherboard or included as part of the motherboard’s chipset.

6.HARD DRIVE
The primary archival storage memory for the system. It is where we saved our files and data including our operating system, antivirus, and other applications.

7.FAN
A small blower fan is used to direct air across a laptop computer's CPU cooler.

8.CPU
The processor is often thought of, as the engine of the computer. It is also called the CPU.

9.PORT
A port serves as an interface between the computer and other computers or peripheral devices.

10.HEAT SINK
A heat sink is a thermal conductive metal device designed to absorb and disperse heat away from a high temperature object such as a computer processor.

11.GRAPHIC CARD
The Graphics Card is responsible for rendering an image to your monitor, it does this by converting data into a signal your monitor can understand.

12.ROM
a type of non-volatile memory used in computers and other electronic devices.

13.NETWORK CARD
Network interface card (also known as a NICnetwork card, or network interface controller) is an electronic device that connects a computer to a computer network, usually a LAN. It is considered a piece of computer hardware.
